Use fewer light sources
One lamp can make a room feel more composed than every ceiling light switched on. Aim for pools of light rather than uniform brightness.
Let shadow do its work
Curtains, a corner, and a warm surface give the eye somewhere to rest. Fragrance becomes more noticeable when the room stops shouting visually.
Add scent after the room has settled
Once the light is softer, choose a short scent cycle or a passive source. You may find you need far less fragrance than expected.
A simple way to try it
- Turn off one overhead light.
- Turn on one lower, warmer source.
- Only then decide whether to add a light scent.
A gentle note: Thoughtful use matters: keep aromatic products away from children and pets; do not ingest oils; use only products and dilutions appropriate to their labels; stop if a scent causes discomfort.
